DAF VIN Check
DAF Trucks use Dutch WMI XLR. The VDS encodes construction (tractor vs rigid), axle layout, series (for example 47 = XF95/XF105 family), engine capacity, and induction. European builds often place 0 in position 10 — model year is then not present in the VIN.
Our decoder maps XLR to the Netherlands (not a generic Russia/Netherlands guess), resolves series and plant codes, and marks the ISO check digit as N/A on typical EU commercial VINs.
How to Read a DAF VIN
Start with WMI XLR. Position 4 is construction (T = tractor), position 5 axle layout, positions 6–7 series, position 8 engine capacity, position 9 induction. Position 11 is the plant (E = Eindhoven).
